Southern Cross Spars stocks a selection of rigid vangs with mechanical, hydraulic or gas springs for cruising and racing purposes. We can fit these to your yacht as an upgrade to your current rope vang to make the boat safer and easier to control.
We can repair and service all makes of rigid vangs replacing the internal mechanism, sheaves and rope as required.
We can also fit or supply boom kickers to suit yachts up to 12 mtr offering the following features:

The most common is the basic fiddle block vang is the most common system offering a 4:1 purchase
By adding a doubling block the purchase of the vang increases to 8:1. The load on the fiddle blocks is halved so they can be used safely on larger boats.
